This week we search for finding that balance in celebration of Hózhó Naashá Week. We balance our learning by transitioning to classrooms outside of school buildings, we call this week our “learning without walls experience.” We balance our daily schedules with activities and workshops that challenge us to learn new skills and embrace new challenges. We balance our environment by stepping out into nature to connect with the land, sun, and earth.
Hózhó Naashá Week
Students and staff have spent months preparing for this annual tradition at Navajo Prep. We will kick off the week with an opening assembly Tuesday morning, followed by the departure of the campers to Navajo Lake State Park. The campers will spend three days and two nights under the stars hiking, preparing meals, engaging in community service, and hearing cultural presentations. Non-campers will spend their days in numerous workshops engaging in the broadening of their cultural knowledge, completing material arts, and learning collaboratively. We will close the week out on Friday with our Adopt-a-Highway clean up school-wide, an environmental presentation for Earth Day, and then an Early Release at 2pm.
